This project supports orphan & street children in Goa. These children are malnourished, no shelter to live in and are psychologically disturbed. By providing education and a shelter home, El Shaddai gives them another chance to dream again and build a hope for future opportunities. Children's Day Care Shelter is safe haven providing education and one-time nutritious meal for healthy growth. El Shaddai has six such homes, helping 300 children (50 children under each home).
Goa being a tourist destination attract many poor families and children from different states to migrate in search of better livelihood opportunities. In the bargain, these children end up as child labourers, rag pickers and juvenile in conflict with the law. Unfortunately, the children become a victim of poverty, malnutrition and bad-influence, often get addicted to drug abuse and hence usually have a bleak future ahead.
El Shaddai Charitable Trust takes these street children into its care and provides them with a safe & healthy environment they can call 'home'. By providing dietician monitored nutritious meals throughout the year, the trust fights the problem of hunger and malnutrition.
