By opening a new children's home in South Goa, El Shaddai will be able to care for, support, counsel and accommodate children from streets, especially those belonging to sex workers and other economically marginalised children. They will provide holistic, individualized care and quality of life by providing shelter, housing, nutritional care and support, recreational facilities, medical assistance, formal education, counselling for dignity, self-esteem, respect for others and positive emotional stability.
The reality of children on the streets of Goa is that they are poor, sick, lonely and often exploited. These children are at a great risk of being abused physically & sexually. The problems get compounded if it's a girl child, who may get introduced to the sex trade and might never be able to get out of it. Unfortunately, the number of homeless children coming from underprivileged conditions is increasing everyday and needs to be addressed with a safe and sustainable solution.
El Shaddai takes these street children into its shelter homes and provides them with a healthy environment to grow up. It provides them Food, Clothing, Medical care, Counselling, Education and extra coaching. There is a group of friendly staff, counsellors who help them with various activities in the home. Children at El Shaddai have the priviledge to be educated, transform their lives and give them hope to be a better human.
